Tree Health Surveys

Landowners have a duty of care to prevent foreseeable harm occurring to people from any hazardous trees situated on their property. In order to do this trees need to be assessed regularly.

Acting as your appointed tree expert, Technical Arboriculture can devise and implement a tree hazard and risk assessment strategy tailored to your specific requirements.

The frequency of regular tree surveys and inspections will depend on a number of factors including the location of the tree, the target below it and the condition. Recommendations can then be made to reduce the risk to an appropriate level.

Technical Arboriculture uses experienced tree surveyors qualified with the LANTRA Professional Tree Inspection certificate and with knowledge of the internationally recognised Visual Tree Assessment (VTA) approach.

Our aim is to provide sound tree advice to our clients so they may target resources in a structured and defensible manner to the highest risk areas.

We can assist our clients by providing a combination of the following services:

  • Site mapping according to risk
  • Detailed individual tree inspection
  • Comprehensive tree hazard assessment
  • Prioritised tree works schedules
  • Forming & implementing a tree risk management strategy
  • Internal decay detection and trunk decay mapping
  • Data in a range of standard digital formats for integration in database management systems and GIS

“We use Technical Arboriculture for the development of our tree strategy, tree policy and risk management plan. They also prioritised our tree risk management areas and now carry out our surveys. We undertook a thorough tender process and awarded the contract based on their ability to meet council policies, give value for money and their approach to risk assessing with approval from our insurers at Zurich.”
